Who We Are

CaseHunter is a legal lead generation and marketing company for law firms. We provide unique legal case leads — people who are actively in need of an attorney right now — together with coordinated direct mail, email and social media campaigns that put your firm in front of them. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Fairfax County, Virginia, we serve firms in 26 states.

What We Do

Most legal marketing puts a firm in front of a broad audience and hopes some of them turn out to need a lawyer. We work the other way around. We start with people who have a new, live legal matter, match them to your practice area and the counties you actually serve, and reach them across more than one channel while the matter is still undecided.

Timing is the whole business. Someone charged with a DUI last Tuesday is making a decision this week, not next quarter. A billboard cannot tell the difference between that person and everyone else on the highway. We can, and that difference is what your marketing budget is actually buying.

Where the Leads Come From

CaseHunter leads are built from court records, arrest records and other legal records, worked every day in every state we cover. This is continuous operational work rather than a periodic data pull, because freshness is the product — a lead that reaches you a week late is not the same lead.

We do not use purchased lists, rented lists or newsletter audiences, and we do not hand you a file that has already been mailed by several other firms. Every lead is a specific person with a specific new matter, validated before it reaches you.

How CaseHunter Started

CaseHunter started with a complaint we kept hearing from friends and family practicing law: the leads they were buying were bad. Not marginally bad — wrong practice area, wrong county, weeks stale, already worked by three competitors. Small firms were spending thousands of dollars mailing people who were never going to call.

That is a data quality problem before it is a marketing problem, and it is the problem CaseHunter was built to solve. Nearly twenty years later, it is still the part of the business we care most about. Good campaign design cannot rescue a bad list, and no amount of creative makes up for reaching the wrong person at the wrong time.

We work with firms practicing criminal defense, serious traffic and DUI defense, bankruptcy, lawsuit and debt defense, family law and general civil matters — from sole practitioners through multi-office firms.

We also work with adjacent businesses that serve the same population at a related moment, including ignition interlock providers and alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities.

Where We Work

CaseHunter covers 26 states and continues to expand. Every state is different — court structures differ, records differ, and advertising and solicitation rules differ significantly from one jurisdiction to the next. How We Work With Firms

Two ways, depending on how much you want to keep in house. CaseHunter Mail delivers the leads and your office handles design, printing and mailing. CaseHunter Mail 360 manages the entire process — design, print, postage and drop — so nothing touches your office. Either can be paired with email and social media campaigns aimed at the same qualified individuals, so your firm reaches the same person through more than one channel rather than reaching three unrelated audiences.

Every mailer includes call tracking, so you can see what a campaign actually generated instead of guessing. Plans run month-to-month with no minimum commitment, and you can scale up, scale down or pause as your caseload changes. Most campaigns launch within days of confirming your practice areas and coverage area.

Why It Matters

Reaching someone while their matter is still open is not only good marketing. People facing a criminal charge, a lawsuit or a family court filing often do not know what their options are, and many never speak to a lawyer at all.
